Custom Wheel and Chrome Rim Shopping

Filed under: Custom Rims, Online Shopping — admin @ 3:01 pm

Custom wheels are part of the American car fascination now. It has taken hold, everyone needs custom wheels or chrome rims to customize their ride. Stock wheels and tires are so yesterday!

What are your options when in the market for wheels? Well you can drive to a few shops, look at some catalogs, or shop online for custom wheels.

Why shop online? Well convenience is one major factor and price is another. A local shop may have a small stock supply and some catalogs to look at. An online wheel store will have an endless supply of selection, and it’s easy to click around and look at a huge selection before coming to a decision on style.

I have bought almost all my wheels online at GotGreatWheels.com. They have a giant selection and their phone agents are experts at fitments and tire selection.

Sports Furniture

With all the big game hype, come big time fans in groves. Fans that will buy anything with the team name and logo on it. Do you see those TV commercials with anything from sports furniture, grills to awnings with a team name on it?

I have seen sports team’s logos and team names on sofas, loveseats, chairs, ottomans, grills, patio furniture, outdoor barstools and more.

Many people also upgrade their home theater setup. That way when friends come over it all looks great in high definition! Entertainment centers with real wood and even those glass and metal ones look great.

Another nice thing the Internet did for sports was having sites dedicated to sports jobs and people hiring in the sports employment field. Anyone looking for a job or hiring would be doing themselves a favor by going to a website that specializes in just that.

Niche sites are great for nailing down the exact information you are seeking. Go to Google and be precise when looking or search terms. Vague or non-specific searches only result in refining your search, do it right the first time.

Furniture

In today’s world when finding the right furniture style to fit in your home you will want to create a decor that fits your personal taste and will give you a complete look in regards to the style or styles you are choosing. Because there are so many options out there today’s homes are more relaxed than ever about their stylistic choices where having one pure style is rare. There are two primary ways to think about furniture style, are Traditional styles that run along historic lines and two, Contemporary styles that make a simpler statement.

Traditional Furniture:

The main theme of traditional furniture is its historical influences. Traditional furniture are furniture styles that are based on historic design models and that are not contemporary. Traditional furnishings designs can come from eighteenth-century England, the French countryside, or even Eastern countries. Among the most popular traditional styles today are eighteenth-century English, nineteenth-century Neoclassic, French Country, and British Colonial Revival.

Eighteenth century English furniture was highlighted by style and craftsmanship. In America, colonial furniture was distinctly functional, often serving more than one purpose, simple in design, and heavy looking. As the wealth of the colonies increased, first in the South, so did the demand for quality furniture. Early 18th Century furniture was highlighted by objects like the bureau that incorporated mirrored doors, cabinets, and a writing flap. Chairs too were changing in dramatic fashion. Rather then having square shapes, they were evolving more curved and rounded in its look. The materials were also changing, with mahogany being imported from the Spanish. This replaced Walnut as the wood of choice. So instead of simple, bulky, and functional rural furniture, the European baroque and rococo styling—elegant urban designs in Queen Anne and Chippendale styles became very popular in large houses. Eighteenth century English furniture had its unique style featured in items like chairs, mirror, small tables, etc.

Nineteenth-century neoclassic furniture is a return to the art and architecture of classic Greece and Rome. The furniture designed in the Neoclassic style embrace bold, straight and linear lines, geometric shapes, and curves of the Rococo period which is a style characterized by grace, playfulness, and lightness. Later Neoclassic styles began to include Egyptian characteristics. Chairs had the neoclassic straight lines and the legs were fashioned into reeded columns.

French Country furniture will give you a look that is always rustic, old-world, and welcoming. French Country furniture fits well into country houses. The French Country style of decorating has a warm and casual feel that will fit beautifully into your home. Colors used to decorate in the French Country style come from the full spectrum of the color wheel. Yellow, gold, red, rust, green, blue and soft ocean tones are all these are found in this wonderful decorating style. Highlights of French Country furniture include delicate carved wood details and chair seats that have a simple look.

British Colonial Revival furniture comes from the Colonial Revival movement was a national expression of early North American culture. The Colonial Revival is generally associated with the eighteenth-century provincial fashion for the Georgian and Neoclassical styles. The movement inspired a variety of expressions to fulfill symbolic and functional needs during times of great change. The Colonial Revival was motivated by a range of historical events, particularly a rapidly growing industrial way of life and increasing immigration. Beyond its association with the development of a national historic consciousness that began in the 1870s, the Colonial Revival style in architecture, decorative arts, landscape and garden design, and American art has served to promote notions of democracy, patriotism, good taste, and moral superiority.

Other older styles include Mission Style Furniture which is a generic term often used to refer to Mission Revival Style of the Spanish missions located throughout the Southwestern United States and Mexico, or to the design elements of the American Arts and Crafts movement. The furniture built in Mission style is solid and built to last with no frills or needless embellishment. The simple designs of the Mission Style go against the extravagant designs of the Victorian era and also against the mass produced furniture emerging after the industrial revolution. They are known to be structurally sound pieces that emphasized the originality of the craftsman’s work. The furniture pieces often include visible joints and the wood’s grain is known to have a beautiful look. Nails and rivets were often left exposed to add a gleaming contrast to the wood or upholstery. Mission Style furniture is known to be very sturdy and it’s the kind of furniture that is passed on from generation to generation. The Mission Style philosophy is often used in today’s contemporary furniture. Clean, sharp geometric lines and a lack of ornamentation along with great craftsmanship are things that are present in much of today’s furniture.

Contemporary furniture:

Contemporary furniture styles are modern styles, as in today’s latest styles. Today’s contemporary interiors are comfortable and welcoming without being cluttered and dark. It’s a style that is equally appropriate for offices and stores, lofts and homes. To achieve the look of a contemporary home, it’s important to stick to some basic rules. Simplicity, subtle sophistication, texture and clean lines help to define contemporary look of today. By focusing on color, space, and shape, contemporary interiors are sleek and fresh. Today’s Contemporary furniture is known to be smooth, clean, and geometric shapes are essential for furniture pieces. Upholstered furniture often comes in black, white, or other neutral tones. Furniture pieces are simple and uncluttered, without curves or decoration. Sofas, chairs, and ottomans usually have exposed legs. Beds and chairs usually have no skirt, trim, fringe, or tassels. Pillows add a shot of color and texture in clean geometric shapes.

The family of contemporary furniture has many styles. Among them are Art Deco from the ’20s, mid-century modern from the ’50s, Scandinavian from the ’60s, Italian from the ’70s, and minimalism from the ’90s. Whatever country they might be from, these contemporary ideas all come from one decade or other of the 20th century. Contemporary furniture is usually simple in shape and detail. Finishes and materials might vary. Contemporary pieces don’t clash with one another. The more the pieces are usually the same vintage in shape, line, material and give a more serene decor to whatever room it is in. Contemporary furniture is easy to mix.

The highlight of the contemporary look is Art Deco. Art Deco Furniture was a popular design movement from 1920 until 1939, affecting the decorative arts such as architecture, interior design, industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as fashion, painting, graphic arts, and film. This movement was a combination of many different styles and movements of the early 20th century, including styles labeled as Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau, and Futurism. Its popularity peaked during the 1920s. Art Deco focuses on elegance, dynamic design, bright colors, and expresses practical modernity.

Mid-Century modern is related to the Space Age. Its focus is that of a sleek, cool, yet accessible lifestyle. Mid-century modernism was more organic in form and less serious than the International Style. Scandinavian and Finnish designers and architects were very prolific at this time, with a style characterized by simplicity, democratic design and organic shapes. They had an influence on Mid-century modernism in the rest of the world, including the US. Mid-century modernism has become popular in recent times, and has influenced contemporary modern design profoundly.

Scandinavian Design emerged in the 1950s in the three Scandinavian countries Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as Finland as a design movement characterized by simple, uncomplicated designs, minimalism, stylization, functionality, and low cost mass production. Much Scandinavian Design makes use of form-pressed wood, plastics, aluminum or pressed steel.

Conclusion:

There are two primary ways to think about furniture stores style which are Traditional styles and Contemporary. Overall there are so many different styles and choices of furniture to choose from in fitting your home with the decor that fits your personal taste. Good luck on finding the perfect furniture to fit you and your family’s style.

Another common style of lock is the combination Lock. Most combination locks are 3 or 4-digits allowing quick access to all of your belongings. Some safes will give you the option to choose a safe with both a combination and key lock. The last kind of lock to choose from is the electronic lock. Most electronic locks for your safes can be programmed with more than one combination for multiple users. Portable Air Conditioners

Filed under: Portable Air Conditioners — admin @ 10:47 am

Portable Air Conditioners

During the blisteringly hot summer months when you need air conditioning, portable air conditioners will provide you with the best value because you can take them with you when needed. If you find that you change housing situations frequently, or work office spaces, then you will be happy to know that air conditioners are available, affordable, and effective for you! Permanent air conditions in general are big and of course, not meant for moving. They also take up a lot of window space, which will block your view of the great scenery outside of your home. As the summer weather gets hotter and hotter, it can become difficult to survive without a constant central air conditioning. Central air conditioning can prove to be quite expensive after a lot of use. The answer to the problem is a portable air conditioner and its many advantages! Because your portable air conditioner is easy to shift from one place in your home to another, it makes it the ideal cooling system solution for your home, office or industrial site!

A portable air conditioner is a self contained unit that is on average about 30 inches tall and about 80 pounds in weight. One of the best things about the portable air conditioner is that it doesn’t require any installation! A portable air conditioner stands on the floor so, like a permanent air conditioner, you don’t have to fit it in your window or your wall. Most portable air conditioner units have wheels, so you can easily move them around. A portable air conditioner is much more convenient then permanent air conditioner units because they do not involve any lifting or tearing up of your windows. You can find a portable air conditioning unit that will cool a room from as small as 200 square feet to as large as 500 square feet. Because of their power, portable air conditioners have become very popular in recent years. Many people use them even if they have a central system because portable A/C can provide excellent cooling for a significantly lower cost!

One thing that gives a portable air conditioners big value is its ability to be taken with you wherever you go. Portable air conditioners work in indoor situations, such as those found in a home bedroom, apartment, classroom or office setting, very well. In addition, portable air conditioners function great in covered outdoor room areas as well. Now your garage, workshop or outdoor room can finally have the same comfortable temperature settings as your indoor rooms! Even places like a faraway cabin can benefit from the cooling efforts of a portable air conditioner. A portable air conditioner helps you breathe easier when you plug it in because they help to improve air circulation in spaces with poor ventilation. This is just another great value that you can enjoy from your portable air conditioner.

Portable air conditioners, unlike the permanent ones, also offer several other features in addition to the just air cooling. Many offer heating capabilities and many can dehumidify the air as well. Several also come with a two-way oscillating fan, which can be a real boon when used with computer equipment or in a server room where keeping the temperature down and the air circulating is crucial to the maintenance of the electrical equipment! For example, the small size of the portable air conditioners is great for convenience and as it can fit in a corner or against a wall. It functions like an effective dehumidifier if you do not vent the warm exhaust air out through a window and its size is also the same as that of a room dehumidifier. You can have your choice of remote control or manual control. Manual is recommended for use in computer and server room applications. In times of power failure, most of the portable air conditions will turn themselves back on when the power returns. In terms of safety, portable air conditioners are required to use leakage-current detection and interruption plugs as well.

Everybody knows that air conditioners chew a lot of energy, so energy efficiency is a big issue. However, recent developments in technology allow manufacturers to produce very efficient air conditioners. Today’s portable air conditioners on average efficiency are 50 percent better than most older central air conditioners.

A portable air conditioner is an excellent choice for saving money! Only one unit needs to be purchased and it can be shifted easily to where you need it. Because only one room is cooled at a time instead of the whole house, the total energy consumption is very low as compared to other kinds of air conditioning systems. Portable air conditioners recycle the moisture in the room when the unit is on and use the water to cool down the cooling coils. This makes the unit run more efficiently and it thereby saves you money. In order to reduce humidity and allergies, even the small ones remove 35 pints of moisture per day from the room air. The portable air conditioners also use the heat exchange principle as the other air conditioners to cool and dehumidify the air. The operating principle is similar to a window air conditioner as the room air circulates over cold evaporator coils to cool and dehumidify it inside the unit. The room air is exhausted outdoor after flowing over the hot condenser. There is no chance of already cooled indoor air escaping outside as two ducts are now used.

You might be surprised to learn that a portable air conditioner is not too expensive. The prices have gone down significantly, in recent years, and now you can buy a good unit from around $300. Air conditioners with a larger cooling capacity cost more, and so do those with higher energy efficiency ratings. When it comes to paying more for a more efficient unit, you actually save money because your energy bill will be lower.

During the blisteringly hot summer months when you need air conditioning, portable air conditioners will provide you with the best value because you can take them with you when needed. IF you don’t have air conditioning and don’t feel like investing in a central system, a portable air conditioner can be a great alternative! And if you have a central air conditioning, it’s still a good idea to have a portable unit for cooling just the room you are in instead of the entire house. It can significantly reduce your bills! This summer a portable air conditioner will be a great addition to your home!

Painting the kids rooms

Filed under: Kids room decorating — admin @ 9:40 pm

Well I need some advice - We are getting ready to paint the girls room but I want to make sure it will match the kids furniture. I really want to paint it with vertical stripes that match some framed art that I already have in there but my husband thinks it will look silly. I am trying to keep a theme going with their furniture collection and he is making it hard.
For my stepsons room I really wanted to do a classic car theme but he wanted to keep the monster bedroom set that he already has. Maybe I will go with that and just paint a wall red or something. I can’t decide any ideas?

Baby Furniture

Filed under: Baby Furniture — admin @ 12:20 am

Recently my husband and I had our latest baby. When I was pregnant all I could think about was decorating the baby’s room! So first off I came up with a theme. I picked an African type theme with animal prints and wildlife pictures on the walls. Baby furniture was also a concern, finding matching furniture and a crib was tough.

I was able to find it online in an espresso type finish, like a chocolate color. The baby crib matched the toddler bed and all the other kids furniture I needed, it was a collection of furniture that all matched, that made it easy.

So I got an animal print border for the room and a themed ceiling fan. After that I got a cool teepee type fabric floor lamp that really brought it together.

A couple of accessories and accent furniture items later…boom! It looks awesome. And no paying a decorator I did it all myself!
